The ENLYZE platform and what I designed
ENLYZE brings machine data, MES and ERP together in one model. Here is the platform from the machine to the decision, layer by layer, and which parts of it I designed.
From the machine to the decision
Three layers, read top to bottom, and underneath them the foundation they stand on.

Edge & connectivity
Where a machine stops being a machine and becomes a stream of values somebody has to name.
My design: 2 of 4
ENLYZE Edge
My designenlyze.comThe setup and diagnostics application on the edge device. Co-owned the concept, wrote part of the front end myself.
Data onboarding
My designenlyze.comFrom a newly connected machine to usable data in a few days instead of weeks.
SPARK edge device
ENLYZE productenlyze.comThe hardware on the line that reads controllers, sensors and gateways, and can serve harmonized data back to the shop floor.
Connectors
ENLYZE productenlyze.comThe connector portfolio that reaches controllers, energy meters, MES and ERP systems.

Cloud & data model
This is where raw signals become objects and rules. All data ends up in one model that any feature can use.
My design: 2 of 4
Object model
My designMachine, order, run, downtime, reason, operator, shift. Product, design and engineering build on it.
Machine data and orders
My designProcess data and bookings in one view, so every measurement belongs to an order, a product and a shift.
OEE
ENLYZE productenlyze.comAvailability, performance and quality as one number, computed per order from the booking data.
Downtime logic
ENLYZE productenlyze.comA threshold on a lead variable decides what counts as a stoppage, second by second and without anyone typing.
- 03
App
Every surface a plant touches, held together by one mental model.
My design: 13 of 14
Automatic Downtime Detection
My designCase studyAt a maker of flexible packaging nobody enters downtime by hand anymore. The review is daily instead of once a month.
Part ofIncrease productivityDigital Setup Sheet
My designenlyze.comThe best settings for each product from the plant's own production history instead of manuals. The plant maintains them itself.
Process Data Analysis
My designenlyze.comBuilt for ourselves first, then given to customers. Our own effort showed the need.
Home & timeline
My designenlyze.comFirst the shop floor at a glance, then a single machine with several time series against setpoints and limits and the orders on the same axis.
Part ofMonitor productionOEE management
My designenlyze.comAutomatic, product-based capture per production order, once the booking data is connected.
Part ofIncrease productivityPerformance
My designenlyze.comActual throughput against the reference speed of the running order. This is where speed loss becomes visible.
Part ofIncrease productivityQuality
My designenlyze.comGood output against scrap, on the same OEE basis as availability and performance.
Part ofIncrease productivityGolden Run
My designenlyze.comThe production order with the best combination of performance and quality, meaning the highest speed at the lowest scrap.
Part ofIncrease reproducibilityProduct optimization
My designenlyze.comThe parameters of the best run extracted and stored as that product's best practice, ready to publish to the shop floor.
Worker Co-Pilot
My designenlyze.comDigital worker guidance on the machine terminal. Next to the static sheet, a live view shows how the machine is running against its targets.
Batch protocol
My designenlyze.comGenerated after every production order, documenting the run without anyone having to write it.
Compliance check
My designenlyze.comDeviations from specification and audited process limits surface on their own, so a complaint is answered from the record.
Dashboarding & reporting
My designenlyze.comProduction data turned into the views a weekly meeting runs on, on the desk or on a screen in the hall.
Roles & access
ENLYZE productenlyze.comRoles across sites, with teams for granting dashboard and folder access in bulk.
Foundation
Not a layer of its own but what all of them stand on. That includes the principles, the team, and the decision about what not to build.
My design: 6 of 6
Design principles
My designFive principles, written for ENLYZE and anchored in the team.
Design system
My designBuilt in Figma and developed further for the whole company.
Research
My designOn site in the plants, from machine operators to management. Interviews read together with the numbers from product analytics.
Design leadership
My designProduct decisions in a trio with the CTO and the CPO. Hired and onboarded a designer, reorganised the handoff to engineering.
UX as a buying factor
My designCustomers saw the UI and UX as what set ENLYZE apart. For several, it decided the purchase.
Deciding what not to build
My designENLYZE Edge came instead of generic dashboards, because the plants lacked usable data.
How the parts connect
ENLYZE describes its use cases as a sequence of features. Some features carry several of them.
Automatic compliance check
enlyze.comShows for every audited order that it ran within approved limits, without paper.
Increase reproducibility
enlyze.comEvery shift runs a product with its best known settings, and start-up gets faster.
Complaint management
enlyze.comA complaint is settled in minutes, and the record shows the fix holds.
Monitor production
enlyze.comEvery machine stays visible around the clock; stops and drift show up at once.
Increase productivity
enlyze.comShows where output is lost and checks whether changes really raise OEE.
